1. Who is responsible

Mount Athos Atlas (mountathosatlas.gr) was created and is maintained by Nikos Daskalakis, based in Ouranoupolis, Chalkidiki, Greece. For any privacy-related question, you can reach out at daskalnik@outlook.com.gr.

2. What kind of site this is

The Atlas is a non-commercial, informational resource covering the hiking trails, monasteries, sketes and kellia of Mount Athos. There is no user registration, no account, no contact form, no newsletter, and no other way the site asks you for personal information.

3. What data we process

a) Server logs

Like any website, our server automatically records basic technical details of your visit (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, date/time), solely for security and smooth operation. This information is never used for profiling or commercial purposes.

b) The Route Planner and Mapbox

The “Route Planner” page displays an interactive map powered by Mapbox (a third-party company based in the USA). For the map to load, your browser connects directly to Mapbox’s servers — meaning your IP address reaches Mapbox, which also stores an anonymous identifier in your browser for its own usage statistics. The actual route calculation (start point/destination) is handled entirely by our own server — it is never sent anywhere else. c) Nothing else

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking or advertising tool. We do not sell, rent or share data with anyone for commercial purposes.

5. Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete, and object to the processing of the minimal data described above, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
