Mount Athos Atlas uses a minimal set of strictly necessary cookies — no advertising, profiling, or tracking cookies.

1. Language cookie (strictly necessary)

Name: pll_language
Purpose: remembers which language you’ve chosen (Greek / English), so you don’t have to select it on every page.
Duration: up to about 1 year (the default set by the multilingual plugin the site runs on).

This cookie is technically necessary for the site’s basic functionality and does not require your consent.

2. Map local storage — only on the “Route Planner” page

When you visit the map page, Mapbox (the service that powers the map) stores an anonymous identifier in your browser’s local storage for its own usage statistics. This isn’t a cookie in the strict technical sense, but works similarly. We don’t use it ourselves, and it isn’t linked to any personal information about you. 3. Nothing else

We don’t use cookies from Google Analytics, Facebook, advertising networks, or any other tracking tool.

4. How to control them

You can delete or block cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. If you delete the language cookie, the site will simply ask you to choose your language again.
